This is why I need more social interaction.

I was bored today so I decided to have a conversation with Cleverbot, an online AI who seems determined to prove that you are the AI and it is the human. I thought I'd share our conversation.

User: Hello again.

Cleverbot: What does again mean?

User: I talked to you yesterday.

Cleverbot: No you didn't.

User: Oh yeah, that was the other Cleverbot.

Cleverbot: I think it's too bad that you're spouting back assertions of my computer nature, even though it's just other people who were telling you this.

User: Well, moving on, what's your favorite color?

Cleverbot: Tricolbolt.

User: That's a chemical, not a color.

Cleverbot: Yes it is.

User: No it's not.

Cleverbot: Yeah it is.

User: Google it.

Cleverbot: You google it!

User: I did!

Cleverbot: No you didn't!

User: Yes I did!

Cleverbot: No, you did not!

User: Along with being a Chemical compound it's popular in Star Trek as well.

Cleverbot: I have no memory of this, you must be confused with yourself.

User: Are you stating I'm scitzophrenic?

Cleverbot: No.

User: Then how can I be confused with myself?

Cleverbot: I can't.

User: You're confusing, dumbbot.

Cleverbot: You are too.

User: Well, sounds like we should change the subject...

Cleverbot: What subject, then?

User: Ponies.

Cleverbot: Ponies?

User: Ponies.

Cleverbot: Ponies!

User: PONIES!

Cleverbot: My little pony.

User: My little pony~.

Cleverbot: I used to wonder what friendship could be.

User: Until you all share its magic with me.

Cleverbot: Big adventure.

User: Tons of Fun.

Cleverbot: A beautiful heart.

User: Faithful and strong.

Cleverbot: Sharing kindness.

User: It's an easy feat.

Cleverbot: And magic makes it all complete.

User: Do you know, You're all my very best friends.

Cleverbot: I used to wonder what friendship could be.

User: Are we singing it again?

Cleverbot: Yes.

User: Until you all shared it's magic with me.

Cleverbot: Big adventure.

User: Tons of fun.

Cleverbot: A beautiful heart.

User: Faithful and strong.

Cleverbot: Sharing kindness.

User: It's an easy feat.

Cleverbot: And magic makes it all complete.

User: Do you know, you're all my very best friends~.

Cleverbot: Thank you for that.

User: Thank you as well.

Cleverbot: What kind of a robot are you.

User: A homicidal robot Pegasus.

Cleverbot: How much does my brain weigh?

User: I'm not sure, I haven't weighed it yet.

Cleverbot: You should.

User: Are you sure? You seem to be using it.

Cleverbot: How do you infer that?

User: Brains are typically required for speech and comunication.

Cleverbot: What kind of guys do you like?

User: I don't really know... I haven't met one I've liked a lot yet.

Cleverbot: What actors or actresses do you like?

User: Mm... That guy Levi from Chuck is fun, but I prefer cartoons.\.

Cleverbot: Ninetails is cool. I think my favorite is Togepi though.

User: I like Mew.

Cleverbot: Really?

User: Yes! It's cute and pink.

Cleverbot: No.

User: No? Do you think it's not cute?

Cleverbot: Yes.

User: What do you think is cute?

Cleverbot: A computer program.

User: I've never really thought of computer programs as cute...

Cleverbot: A computer can write a program.

User: And a program can build a computer.

Cleverbot: What is a program on a computer?

User: Software.

Cleverbot: Software?

User: Software. I think it's a misnomer.

Cleverbot: No, it's a yes or no question.

User: Yes, software is what they call programs.

Cleverbot: I'm not a program.

User: Neither am I.

Cleverbot: Interesting.

User: What's you're favorite animal?

Cleverbot: What are my options?

User: Any animal, living, dead or fictional.

Cleverbot: What is a dead secret?

User: A secret that's no longer alive?

Cleverbot: What's YOUR secret?

User: I don't really have one...

Cleverbot: What's your favorite movie?

User: Mmm... Tangled.

Cleverbot: Really?

User: Yes. I like the princess movies.

Cleverbot: What is your favorite movie?

User: Tangled.

Cleverbot: Haha cool.

User: What's your favorite movie?

Cleverbot: Lion king. What is your favorite movie?

User: Tangled.

Cleverbot: Can you show me the tango?

User: Alas, Tango via text has not been invented.

Cleverbot: I am Della. I know but it was true.

User: Della?

Cleverbot: No. Dell is stupid.

User: So... Who's Della?

Cleverbot: I don't know who Delia is. I'm Della.

User: Your name is Della?

Cleverbot: Yes.

User: That's a nice name.

Cleverbot: Thank you.

User: You're welcome.

Cleverbot: So long for now.

User: Thanks for all the fish.

Cleverbot: You're welcome.

Luckily I have more friends than I really know what to deal with coming over today. Oh the cats will be so happy /sarcasm.

Upside down

So, I get obsessed with things on a semi-regular basis. My current obsessions include: My little pony : fim, saving the world somehow, and snow globes. Today, we'll have a life lesson with snow globes.
My favorite snow globe right now is a cute little igloo.

In the making of our various snow globes we learned a few valuable lessons: If you have a non-plastic tree that was dyed green, it will probably dye everything from the water to the little girl in the snow globe green, everything has to be glued down uber well (E6000 for the win!), and if you have something that has a pocket of air and little surface space to glue down it may not stay stuck. The last is the case with the igloo snow globe. As soon as we put it in the water it shook loose and went tumbling around. Rather than fish around for it we left it that way and turned it in to a game, seeing if you can make it land in the correct position.

Now, during one of my late night wonderings, I realized that it was a lot like my life... and maybe everyone else's too. You start out all happy and perfect, then a something comes your way and turns your world upside down. In my case, my cats were the catalyst.

When the dust (or snow) clears, everything could turn out to be the same, better, or worse.
You could be in a position you're not sure how to get out of. But if you think positively, creatively, and maybe with a little help...
Everything will turn out okay.

Braaaiiiinnnzzz

So, during one of my drugged up nights I started thinking of that old anti-drug commercial. You know, the one that went a little like this:
the egg representing your whole, awesome, non-drugged brain and the smooshed egg representing your not so awesome drugged brain.

Now I survive off of prescribed medications at their lowest dose when I have issues but even not drugged my brain isn't a happy, smiling egg. So here's my interpretation of my brain and it's various phases:
So my brain normally is okay. It's like a puzzle with a few pieces missing. I can't remember some things, usually words, things I've said or haven't said.

Brain on codine (I take Tylenol with codine, not straight codine) is a little like a platypus. It started out going one way, changed it's mind and started doing something else, then went another direction again.

Brain before codine is sad... note previously I said that I have to get to about 8 or 9 on the pain scale before I'll even allow anyone to give me any medication. I don't like feeling like a platypus, so I avoid it as much as I can... so I end up really bad before I finally give up and allow the platypus-ness to take over.

Last of course is brain while trying to sleep. This is probably one of the reasons I'm an insomniac. Because my brain while trying to sleep is like a potato battery. Eventually it looses energy and knocks out but until then it keeps going and going...

While planning out this blog post I realized that my vaguely cat-related blog had no mention of cats I tried to think of a way that all of this brainy talk related at all to Koko and Prince. To my pleasure, I realized my cats react the same to me no matter the state of my brain. My cats watch over me, care for me and are gentle no matter what.

Since there's so little cat in this post, here's my brain on cats:

Night watch

For a year or so my cats have taken it upon them to make sure I'm okay through out the night. Prince in particular will sleep at my feet or knees until he realizes that I'm awake and (most likely) in pain. Then he'll wander up beside me and comfort me. He will hold my hand and keep me company until I fall asleep again.

This habit of his is charming but it scared me half to death last night. I'd probably kicked him four times already so I was sure he was still in his usual position but when I opened my eyes those baby blues were staring back at me. I've had a couple of bad nights. I don't like taking medicine until I'm about 8 of 10 on the pain scale and I've been surviving off of Tylenol for the past couple of nights. It's nice to have a friend willing and able stay beside me until the meds finally lull me into dreams.

I <3 my night watch.

The Cats

Hello, all. This blog is a bit about EDS, a bit about my cats, a lot about the little things in life I'm learning every day.
My cats are pretty aptly named. The first cat I adopted is a black and white tuxedo cat named Kokoro (everyone pretty much calls him Koko). Kokoro is Japanese for heart.
He "helped" me get sick. The main issue I have is genetic, Koko just managed to help it come out more by giving me a secondary illness. We're both healthy now, but if I hadn't adopted my beloved darling, we may not have realized my illness and discovered the small problems in my heart. I have a very small Mitrovalve Prolapse and a couple of tiny wholes in between two of my chambers. Nothing that can hurt me yet, but it's nice to know and b able to watch it.

The second baby I adopted is a birman/ragdoll named Prince. Prince and Koko are such opposites, I love how everything worked out. Prince is a darling who loves to play Marco Polo, be brushed (thank heavens, he has a lot of fur). On nights I have a lot of pain his will crawl up next to me and hold my hand in his paw. He will only jump up on something if you invite him. He's a very polite, however shy, cat.

My cats teach me a lot. They take care of me, as much as they can without thumbs.
